Domestic car and motorcycle sales plunged in March, figures compiled by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers show.
Car sales for the month of March was down 22.5 per cent at 1.8 lakh units, year on year. Motor cycle sales on the other hand dropped by 8.3 per cent, year on year, to 7.8 lakh units in the month of March.
Commercial vehicles sales on the other hand also dropped by 6 per cent, year on year.Auto stocks dropped following the figures with tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra and Mahindra were trading down.
