Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has bid for Perot Systems, Reuters has reported quoting sources.
According to the reports there are three other bidders, including NTT Data Corp, Cognizant and ATOS. Perot Systems is a part of Dell, which the latter had acquired in 2009. The company is a major software player in the US.
If TCS manages to acquire Perot, it would solidly cement its position as the number one software player in India. Though it is still the number one player, it has lagged revenue growth when compared to Cognizant in the past few quarters.
Shares of TCS were trading lower by 1 per cent at Rs 2353 on the National Stock Exchange.
