Cash-strapped private carrier Jet Airways has put 25 lakh seats up for grabs at almost one-third of the normal fares for travel across its domestic and international network under a limited period offer.

Booking for the largest ever flash sale began on 4 September and ends on 7 September. It will cover both business (Premiere) and economy class travel, as per the carrier's official website. Those bookings their tickets through the company's website and mobile can avail the discount till 9 September.

"Jet Airways offers an up to 30 percent savings on 25 lakh (2.5 million) seats on travel within India and beyond to and from the UK/Europe and Canada, Gulf and South Asian countries," the airline said.

The travel for the offer should commence on or after 10 September 2018 for international destinations except for travel to Manchester which must commence on or after 5 November 2018. For domestic flights, travel must commence on or after 12 September 2018. These tickets must be purchased a minimum of 8 days prior to departure.

It's rival airlines are also offering tickets at discounted rates. GoAir is offering flight travel for as low as Rs 1,099 in a sale that will end on 5 September 2018. The travel period for the sale is between 3 September 2018 and 31 March 2019.

IndiGo and AirAsia have also put flight tickets up for sale on their website. Airlines plan flash sales for bulk flight tickets to generate working capital.
