Bajaj Auto Ltd. Today reported its highest ever monthly sales for the month of October on the back of strong motorcycle sales. During the month, the company experienced a 32 percent rise in sales having sold 5,06,699 vehicles, compared to the same period last year.

Following the announcement, Bajaj Auto's share price surged as much as 4 percent to Rs 7,203 a piece on BSE. The two and three wheeler maker's overall domestic sales hit a record of 3,19,942 vehicles, after a 33 percent jump in motorcycle sales in the country during the festive month.
It exports also grew, 38 percent higher on a year-on-year basis to 1,86,757 units. Segment-wise, there was a 68 percent jump in the export of commercial vehicles and a 33 percent increase in two-wheeler exports.
Overall, the sales of motorcycles rose 33 percent to 4,32,985 units while its commercial vehicle sales were 30 percent higher at 73,714 units.
Meanwhile, BSE's Sensex climbed as much as 1.67 percent or 575 points to 35,007 and NSE's Nifty 50 rose 1.75 percent or 181 points to 10,562, around 10:35 am on Friday.
