Gold Price Hits New Record High In India, July 17: 24K/100 Grams Gold Jumps By Rs 9,800

Gold prices in India on Wednesday hits new high as investors decided to jump to safe-haven asset amid comments from US Federal Reserve officials strongly indicating of interest rate cut in September. 22k gold prices today in India jumped by Rs 900 to Rs 68,750/10 grams and 100 grams of 22 carat gold price today rose by Rs 9000 to Rs 6,87,500. 24k gold prices today soared by Rs 980 to Rs 75,000 in the country and 100 grams of 24 carat precious metal prices surged by Rs 9800 to Rs 7,50,000.

18k gold prices in India today rose by Rs 730 to Rs 56,250/10 grams and 100 grams of 18 carat yellow metal prices turned dearer by Rs 7,300 to Rs 5,62,500 in the country on July 17.

According to a Reuters report, "gold surges to new all-time highs despite stronger-than-expected core retail sales data, encouraged by Powell indicating yesterday that the Fed was growing more confident that inflation was back on its way to target," said Tai Wong, a New York-based independent metals trader.

"This essentially etches a September cut in stone barring an inflation calamity in the coming weeks."

Spot Gold, Spot Silver Prices Today: Spot gold rose 0.1% at $2,470.89 per ounce, as of 0046 GMT, after touching a record peak of $2,473.18 earlier in the session. US gold futures jumped 0.3% to $2,473.70. Spot silver slipped 0.4% to $31.26 per ounce, platinum jumped 0.1% to $1,000.62 and palladium soared 0.4% to $963.22, according to Reuters.

Silver Prices Today In India: Silver price today in India recorded sharp rally after several days. 1 kg silver prices turned dearer by Rs 1000 to Rs 96,000 and 100 grams of silver prices today soared by Rs 100 to Rs 9,600.

Gold prices in India today jumped by Rs 900, surged by Rs 350 on July 16, declined by Rs 100 on July 15, remained steady on July 14, stayed unchanged on July 13 as well, rallied by Rs 300 on July 12, rose again by Rs 200 on July 11, stayed stable on July 10, declined by Rs 350 on July 9, and fell by by Rs 200 on July 8.
