Gold Price In India Gets Dearer, June 12: 18K, 22K, 24 K Gold Jumps For 2nd Consecutive Day

Gold prices in India today jumped for 2nd consecutive day as investors are looking forward to the U.S. May inflation report later in the day and Federal Reserve's policy announcement for insight into how early it will slash interest rates. 22k gold prices today jumped by Rs 300 to Rs 66,150/10 grams in India and 100 grams of 22 carat yellow metal prices rose by Rs 3000 to Rs 6,61,500. 24k gold prices today surged by Rs 320 to Rs 72,160/10 grams and 100 grams of 24 carat precious metal prices zoomed by Rs 3200 on June 12.

18k gold prices today in India soared by Rs 240 to Rs 54,120/10 grams and 100 grams of 18 carat yellow metal prices today jumped by Rs 2400 to Rs 5,41,200. It is worth noting that today 18k, 22k, and 24 k gold prices jumped for second day in a row.

Spot Gold, Spot Silver Prices Today: Spot gold declined 0.2% at $2,311.80 per ounce, as of 0128 GMT. US gold futures surged 0.1% to $2,328.80. Spot silver rallied 0.2% to $29.33 per ounce, platinum was up 0.8% at $959.10 and palladium gained 1% to $892.45, according to Reuters.

Silver Prices Today: Silver prices in India today jumped by Rs 800 to Rs 91,300/kg while 100 grams silver prices in India on June 12 surged by Rs 80 to Rs 9,130.

According to Reuters, "Gold prices have been treading lightly amid the waiting game for greater cues on the Fed's policy path. Any lean towards two rate cuts could be perceived as a more dovish take, which may see gold prices head higher," said IG market strategist Yeap Jun Rong.

The Reuters report added, "While China did take a break from gold in May, I don't believe that the People's Bank of China are finished with their diversification efforts away from the U.S. dollar," Tim Waterer, chief market analyst at KCM Trade, said in a note.
