Gold Prices Fall For 2nd Day In India, Oct 10: Check Latest 18k, 22k, 24k Yellow Metal Prices

Gold prices in India recorded fall for second consecutive day on October 10, 2024 as investors are expecting crucial inflation print to be released later today for more clarity on Federal Reserve's monetary policy stance. Silver prices in India today stayed unchanged. 22k gold prices today declined by Rs 50 to Rs 70,250/10 grams and 100 grams of 22 carat precious metal prices today slipped by Rs 500 to settle at Rs 7,02,500 in India on Thursday. 24k gold price today fell by Rs 50 as well to trade at Rs 76,640/10 grams and 100 grams of 24 carat precious metal prices today dipped by Rs 500 to Rs 7,66,400.

18k gold prices today turned cheaper by Rs 40 today to Rs 57,480/10 grams and 100 grams of 18 carat precious metal prices today fell by Rs 400 to Rs 5,74,800.

On factors that led to decline in gold prices in India for last 2-days, Renisha Chainani, Head Research - Augmont - Gold For All stated, "the September FOMC meeting minutes showed that most members favoured a 50 bps rate cut because they believed inflation would eventually approach the 2% target. The US Dollar rose to a nearly two-month high due to the widespread agreement that the excessive rate decrease would not bind the Federal Reserve to any particular pace for any reductions."

Traders are now pricing in a 20% possibility that the Fed will maintain rates in November and a higher likelihood that it would only cut borrowing costs by 25 basis points in November. Despite Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant's assurance that an attack against Iran would be "lethal, precise, and surprising," investors continued to be cautious about the mounting tensions between the two countries. Gold has broken important support of $2650 (~Rs 75400) and aims for $2600 (~Rs 73500) next, added Renisha Chainani.

1 gram gold rate today for 22k fell by Rs 5 to Rs 7025. 24k gold price for 1 gram edged lower by Rs 5 to Rs 7,664. 18k per gram gold price fell by Rs 4 to retail at Rs 5748.

Silver Prices Today In India: Silver price in India today remained unchanged after witnessing decline for 3-consecutive days. 1 kg silver prices today in India stood at Rs 94,000 and 100 grams silver prices today are trading at Rs 9,400 as prices remained steady.

Spot Gold, Spot Silver Prices Today: Spot gold remained steady at $2,609.72 per ounce, as of 0040 GMT. Spot silver rose 0.1% to $30.54 per ounce. Platinum gained 1.1 per cent to $955.20, while palladium fell 0.1 to settle at $1,038.75, according to Reuters.
