Gold Prices Slide, Aug 23: Yellow Metal Prices Fall For 2nd Day, Check Latest Gold Price

Gold price in India today recorded decline for second consecutive session as dollar ticked up. Meanwhile, traders are looking forward to US Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's speech for likely rate cut in the September meeting. US gold prices witnessed rally on Friday. 22k gold prices today slipped by Rs 200 to Rs 66,600/10 grams and 100 grams of 22 carat yellow metal prices today fell by Rs 2000 to Rs 6,66,000. 24K gold prices today declined by Rs 220 to Rs 72,650/10 grams and 100 grams of 24 carat precious metal prices today stood at Rs 7,26,500 after fall of Rs 2200.

18k gold prices today are retailing at Rs 54,490/10 grams and 100 grams of 18 carat yellow metal prices stood at Rs 5,44,900 after dip of Rs 1700 on Friday.

Spot Gold, Spot Silver Prices Today: Spot gold declined 0.2% at $2,507.32 per ounce, as of 1020 GMT, after touching a record high of $2,531.60 on Tuesday, and U.S. gold futures fell 0.2% to $2,543.40. Spot silver fell 0.1% to $29.60 per ounce, platinum edged 0.4% lower to $959.66 and palladium surged 0.3% to $954.24, according to Reuters.

According to Reuters, Gold prices have rallied more than 20% so far this year on safe-haven demand and hopes that the Fed will begin cutting interest rates in September.

"After reaching new all-time highs, the market appears to be getting comfortable above $2500. The immediate path largely depends on Fed policy signals from Jackson Hole later this week; some near-term consolidation cannot be ruled out," said precious metals strategists at UBS.
