Gold Prices Slip In India, Aug 22: 24K/100 Grams Yellow Metal Falls By Rs 3300, Silver Steady Again

Gold price in India today slipped after minutes from the U.S. Federal Reserve's latest meeting indicated majority of officials are keen towards an interest rate cut at their upcoming September policy meeting. 22k gold prices today fell by Rs 300 to Rs 66,800/10 grams and 100 grams of 22 carat precious metal prices today stood at Rs 6,68,000 after decline of Rs 3000. 24k gold prices today dived by Rs 330 to settle at Rs 72,870/10 grams and 100 grams of 24 carat yellow metal prices today fell by Rs 3300 to Rs 7,28,700.

18K gold prices today registered dip of Rs 240 to Rs 54,660/10 grams and 100 grams of 18 carat yellow metal prices today dipped by Rs 2400 to Rs 5,46,600/10 grams.

Spot Gold, Spot Silver Prices Today: Spot gold stayed unchanged at $2,511.80 per ounce, as of 0030 GMT, trading below a record high of $2,531.60 touched on Tuesday. Spot silver slipped 0.2% lower to $29.56 per ounce, platinum surged 0.4% to $967.25 and palladium dipped 0.1% to $950.57, according to Reuters.

US gold is trading near all-time highs on Thursday after minutes from the US Federal Reserve's latest meeting showed majority of officials prepared for September interest rate cut.

As per the Reuters report, "gold is closing at the highs after Fed minutes indicated that 'a vast majority' of the committee was prepared to cut rates in September," said Tai Wong, a New York-based independent metals trader.

"I am cautiously optimistic because all the market-friendly news is already out there. Gold is likely to grind higher but unlikely to accelerate aggressively without an unforeseen event driver."
