Gold Rates & Silver Rates Today (27-05-2026) Live Updates: MCX Gold Trade Cautiously, Silver Prices Gains 0.5%

Gold rates in India traded cautiously at MCX, with 10 grams price still below Rs 1.58 lakh mark. Meanwhile, MCX silver price rebounded from its previous losses on May 27, to trade higher by 0.5% to around Rs 2.72 lakh mark. In the global market, spot gold traded volatilely at above $4,500 per ounce, while spot silver continued to be under pressure to trade between $76-77 per ounce.

On the other hand, crude oil prices plunged by nearly 2% with Brent Crude trading below $98 per barrel and US WTI Crude Oil futures at $92 per barrel.

Investors continue to show a cautiously optimistic stance for US-Iran negotiations, a pivotal case for the fate of Strait of Hormuz which has remained shut or strangled in a dual blockade for the third month now.

President Donald Trump said negotiations to extend a ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz are continuing, while US Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned that any final agreement may still take several days to complete. At the same time, the US military said it carried out self-defense strikes in southern Iran, while Iran's Revolutionary Guard claimed it fired at an F-35 fighter jet and multiple drones after they allegedly entered Iranian airspace, as per Trading Economics.

Despite this, gold is still down by 15% at COMEX, while spot silver is down by 20% since the US-Israel-Iran conflict started.
