The state of Kerala has opened the window for buying its seasonal and popular bumper lottery, Vishu BR 109 whose results will be announced in May 2026. The Vishu lottery gets its name after the Malayali New Year in Kerala called Vishu, which is a celebration of new beginnings and prosperity. The Kerala state lottery department has announced the prize structure, result date, lottery price and other details for the upcoming Vishu Bumper [BR-109] 2026 lottery.

Kerala Vishu Bumper BR 109 Lottery Ticket Price:

The sales of the Vishu bumper ticket started in March 2026. The cost is at Rs 300 per lottery. Approximately 54 lakh tickets are reported to be printed for this year's Vishu lottery, amounting to Rs 126.56 crore.

Tickets are issued in six series (VA, VB, VC, VD, VE, VG).

Kerala Vishu Bumper BR 109 Lottery Results Date:

The Kerala department has revealed that the lottery will be announced on May 23, 2026. The lucky draw is scheduled to begin at 2pm from Gorky Bhavan, near Bakery Junction, Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram.

Kerala Vishu Bumper 2026: 1st Prize

The first prize winner will get a bumper Rs 12 crore, which is same as last year. Only 1 winner will be eligible for this prize money.

Kerala Vishu Bumper 2026: 2nd Prize

The second prize is of Rs 1 crore. However, six winners will be announced and each will get Rs 1 crore. In total, the payout will be around Rs 6 crore.

Kerala Vishu Bumper 2026: 3rd Prize

The third prize is of Rs 10 lakh. But the Kerala state will select six winners for third prize who will get Rs 10 lakh crore, totaling to Rs 60 lakh.

Kerala Vishu Bumper 2026: Consolation Prize

The consolation prize under Vishu lottery is also exciting to the tune of Rs 1 lakh. The lucky winning tickets will be matched with the first prize winning numbers but miss the series. At least 5 winners will be eligible to get Rs 1 lakh each. Hence, the total payout is of Rs 5 lakh.

Kerala Vishu Bumper 2026: 4th Prize

The fourth prize money is of Rs 5 lakh. Just like second and third, six winners will be eligible for Rs 5 lakh fourth prize each. For this, the total payout comes around Rs 30 lakh.

Kerala Vishu Bumper 2026: 5th Prize:

The fifth prize is of Rs 5,000. But the winners will be decided as per the last four digits of the tickets which will be drawn 30 times. At least 16,200 winners will be selected to win Rs 5,000 each. This will lead to total payout of Rs 8,10,00,000.

Kerala Vishu Bumper 2026: 6th Prize

The sixth prize comes at Rs 2,000. For this, last four digits will be drawn 24 times. The state will select 12,960 winners who will get Rs 2,000 each, totaling to Rs 2,59,20,000.

Kerala Vishu Bumper 2026: 7th Prize:

Under the 7th prize, the last four digits will be drawn 54 times and up to 29,160 winners will be selected for Rs 1,000 each. The total prize amount is Rs 2,91,60,000.

Kerala Vishu Bumper 2026: 8th Prize:

The 8th prize is of Rs 500. For this, last four digits will be drawn 254 times. At least 1,37,160 winners will be eligible to get Rs 500 each. The total payout for the prize is Rs 6,85,80,000.

Kerala Vishu Bumper 2026: 9th Prize

The last prize is 9th of Rs 300. At least 1,84,680 winners will be selected for Rs 300. Here, the last four digits will be drawn 342 times. In total Rs 5,54,04,000 will be paid.

Kerala Lottery Vishu Bumper 109 2026: Tax Implications

Currently, there are fixed tax rate on any lottery winning prizes either be Kerala, Sikkim, Punjab, Assam and Nagaland. Here's a breakdown:

- 30% tax rate is mandatory to be levied on winning amount above Rs 10,000.

- Then add 4% health and education cess, which will push the total tax rate to 31.2%.

- Lastly, if the winning amount breaks above a threshold limit, there will be a surcharge imposed on those prize.
