L&T Jumps 6% On Bagging Biggest Ever Order
On Wednesday, shares of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) rose as much as 5.5 percent to Rs 1,141.25 after the engineering giant said that its Construction and Mining Equipment Business has been awarded its biggest order ever.
In a stock exchange filing, the company said that it has the Construction and Mining Equipment business of L&T has received an order to supply 46 units of Komatsu Mining Equipment from Tata Steel.
"The order comprises of 41 units of Komatsu HD785-7 (100 Ton Dump Truck), three units of Komatsu WA900-3E0 (9 Cum Wheel Loader) and two units of Komatsu D275A-5R (410HP Crawler Dozer). The scope includes supply of equipment and full maintenance contract for 60,000 hours of equipment operation," it added.
26 of these 46 units will be deployed at Tata Steel's Iron Ore Mines at Joda, Noamundi and Khondbond in Odisha, while 20 units of Komatsu 100 Ton Dump Trucks will be deployed at Tata Steel's West Bokaro Coal Mines in Jharkhand, it further added.
L&T is into the business of supplying state of the art equipment to the infrastructure, mining and irrigation sectors. These equipment include Hydraulic Excavators, Rear Dump Trucks, Crawler Dozers, Wheel Loaders, Wheel Dozers, Motor Graders, Heavy Tippers, Surface Miners, Skid Steer Loaders etc.
