LPG Prices From June 1: 19 Kg LPG Hiked By Rs 42-54 In Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata; 14.2 kg LPG Unchanged

LPG prices in India are hiked by Rs 42 to nearly Rs 54 in commercial 19 kg cylinders for the fifth time in four months. The biggest hike is seen in Kolkata by up to Rs 53.50 per cylinder in commercial LPG, followed by Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi. The new rates came into effect from June 1, 2026. LPG prices have witnessed a significant change across India since the US-Israel-Iran war, which fueled a global energy crisis and supply shortages.

For the month of June 2026, the 19 kg LPG price increased by Rs 42 in Delhi, the lowest hike among other cities. On the contrary, the highest hike is by Rs 53.50 in Kolkata, followed by a Rs 46 per-cylinder hike in Chennai. In Mumbai, the commercial LPG is up by Rs 43.5 per cylinder.

This follows LPG price hikes of Rs 1,147 in Kolkata and Rs 1,015.5 in Mumbai in May 2026. In May 2026, LPG prices also increased by Rs 1,013 in Chennai and by Rs 993 in Delhi.

Taking into consideration the latest hike, commercial LPG prices are increased for the fifth time since March 1, 2026, in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. However, the latest cut in Kolkata is the first since the West Asia war escalated.

Earlier, Indian Oil had increased LPG prices by Rs 218 to Rs 195.5 for April 2026. This followed a Rs 114.5 hike on March 7, 2026, due to an intensifying geopolitical crisis in the Middle East. On March 1, 2026, the hike ranged from Rs 28 to Rs 31 in these cities.

With effect from June 1, 2026, a single 19 Kg LPG cylinder is priced at Rs 3,113.50, compared to Rs 3,071.50 per cylinder in May 2026.

LPG Prices In Mumbai:

In Mumbai, the commercial 19 Kg LPG is now available at Rs 3,067.5 per cylinder for June 2026, compared to the previous month's rate of Rs 3,024 per cylinder.

LPG Prices In Chennai:

Here, 19 Kg LPG is available at Rs 3,283 per cylinder from June 1, compared to the previous month's rate of Rs 3,237 per cylinder.

LPG Prices In Kolkata:

On the other hand, 19 KG LPG is lowered to Rs 3,255.5 per cylinder with effect from June 1, 2026, compared to Rs 3,202 per cylinder in May 2026. Due to the Middle East situation, Kolkata witnessed the highest hike in LPG rates.

14.2 KG LPG Prices In India

The domestic LPG rates are unchanged for June 2026. That said, the 14.2kg LPG price remains Rs 913 per cylinder in Delhi, Rs 939 in Kolkata, Rs 912.50 in Mumbai and Rs 928.50 in Chennai.

From March 2026 to June 1, 2026, 14.2 Kg LPG prices witnessed only one hike and that was on March 7, 2026, by Rs 60 per cylinder across the country. Since then, the prices have been unchanged.

19 Kg LPG Cylinders vs 14.2 Kg LPG Cylinders

So here's what you need to understand. There are three popularly used LPG cylinder sizes: 5 kg, 14.2 kg, and 19 kg. Currently, a 5 Kg gas cylinder is widely used by migrants, students and citizens who are renting but lack permanent residence.

Then come 14.2 Kg LPG cylinders, which are largely meant for domestic use and comprise almost 90% of all gas distributed, as per the Indian Oil website. Indian households use this cylinder type.

Then there are 19 Kg LPG cylinders, which are meant for industrial and commercial consumption. Also, 47.5 kg and 425 kg Jumbo cylinders are used by industries for commercial purposes. These commercial consumptions include eateries, hotels, restaurants, malls, food stalls and small-scale industries, as they require high consumption for cooking and heating needs.
