LPG Gas Cylinder New Rules From November 1: What Are 5 LPG Refill Rules For Indane, HP Gas, Bharat Gas?
November is just a couple of days away, all set to bring in new rules and regulations for your Indane Gas, HP Gas and Bharat Gas. On November 1st, the majority are expecting a revision in either domestic LPG or commercial LPG cylinder prices. However, one of the most crucial rules that will continue in November is for LPG refills. Both subsidy-to-booking intervals for LPG refills have been revised. Beware of them!
LPG Refill Booking Intervals

This rule is common to everyone in India, whether you are a PMUY beneficiary or a general category customer. LPG users in both rural and urban areas now have a 25-day booking interval for Indane, HP and Bharat Gas LPG refills.
Before the US-Iran conflict, the gap for LPG refill was 21 days. This was later expanded to 25 days in March 2026. But it was further revised to 45 days for rural area customers and 25 days for urban area customers.
The rule was once again changed in September 2026, reducing the number of days for LPG refills to 25 days from 45 days for rural area customers.
Now, whether you reside in rural or urban regions, the booking interval remains the same, 25 days.
2. LPG Biometric Aadhaar Authentication is Compulsory for LPG Refills
This is a critical rule if you wish to enjoy the LPG subsidy under the PMUY scheme. What has happened is that from start of October, LPG biometric Aadhaar authentication has become mandatory for all Indian households. The goal behind mandatory Aadhaar e-KYC is to ensure that subsidised LPG reaches only genuine and deserving households. Linking each connection to the Aadhaar-authenticated consumer helps prevent diversion of subsidised domestic cylinders for commercial and industrial use, removes duplicate and ineligible connections, and makes subsidy delivery transparent and targeted.
If you have not completed your e-KYC, then the refill booking at the retail selling price (RSP) with subsidy benefit has been halted until the authentication is completed.
Earlier, PMUY beneficiaries who bought domestic 14.2 kg LPG cylinders at market price, for instance, Rs 942 in Delhi, would receive a subsidy of Rs 200-300 in their bank account through direct benefit transfer. This subsidy is applicable for 4 LPG refills per year. But if you have not completed e-KYC, you will not receive the subsidy discount.
4. How To Complete Biometric Aadhaar Authentication For LPG Refills Subsidy?
There are three main methods, as per the ministry. These are:
Method 1: During refill delivery: the delivery person can complete authentication on the spot using the OMC mobile application.
Method 2: At the distributor's showroom: consumers can visit their LPG distributor and complete authentication there.
Method 3: On OMC mobile apps: consumers can complete the process themselves from home using:
IndianOil ONE for Indane customers
HelloBPCL for Bharatgas customers
HP PAY for HP Gas customers
You can also watch video tutorials on completing self e-KYC are available on the PMUY portal.
5. What If You Do Not Complete E-KYC?
You can still continue to receive LPG refills, but the subsidised benefit will require authentication. The Oil Ministry guidelines said that the consumers who are unwilling or unable to complete BAA can still receive LPG. They will need to register this choice on their OMC's digital channels: the consumer web portal, mobile app, WhatsApp chatbot, IVRS or other available channels.
It added that these consumers will be supplied with LPG at the applicable market price, without any subsidy, in 5 kg or 10 kg cylinders, subject to local availability with the OMC. '
