Markets End Lower; Heavyweight Reliance Falls
Benchmark indices ended the day lower, led by losses in heavyweight Reliance Industries. The Sensex ended the day lower by 38 points, while the Nifty ended the day lower by 9 points. Leading the set of losers in trade from the Nifty apart from Reliance was Yes Bank, SBI, Nestle and Adani Ports.
Shares in Dishman Carbogem AMCIS fell nearly 8 per cent, after reports of Income Tax visits at the offices and manufacturing plants of the company. In fact, the stock plunged to a new 52-week lows.
Among the biggest sectoral underperformers in trade today were the auto and PSU banking space. Union Bank was the loser from the banking space.

Meanwhile, Asian markets ended the day mixed with the Shanghai Composite dropping sharply, while the Japanese Nikkei ended the day higher. European markets were marginally lower, as volumes are likely to be thin ahead of the Christmas holidays.
