Sensex, Nifty Close At Record Highs For The Third Consecutive Session

Indian market benchmark indices ended at record highs for the third consecutive trading session on Thursday.

BSE's Sensex closed 115 points or 0.28 percent higher at 41,673.92 and NSE's Nifty ended 38 points or 0.31 percent higher at 12,259.70.

During the day, Sensex and Nifty 50 touched new all-time highs of 41,719.29 and 12,268.35 respectively with leads from RIL and TCS.

Markets Open Lower; Yes Bank Opens Lower

Auto stocks were the best performing among sectors with likes of Tata Motors and Mahindra and Mahindra performing well.

TCS, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries Limited and HUL helped the indices rally to new highs in trade on Thursday. Shares of RIL and HDFC Bank touched new record highs of Rs 1,614.90 and Rs 1,305.50, respectively, during the day.

NMDC shares continued to rally for the fourth day in a row, rising as much as 3.05 percent, as investors bought into the stock.

Yes Bank, which made losses at the start of the session jumped 10 percent to Rs 51.40 per share in the afternoon.
