Last seen in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway, Rani Mukerji is now creating waves for Mardaani 3 which is the much talked about third installment of the popular Mardaani franchise. Directed by Abhiraj Minawala, Mardaani 3 features Rani reprising her role of fearless cop Shivani Shivaji Roy.

Produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, Mardaani 3, which is an action thriller, also features Janki Bodiwala, Jisshu Sengupta in the lead along with Mallika Prasad playing the role of lead antagonist. Interestingly, Mardaani 3 has been facing comparisons with its prequels Mardaani 2 and Mardaani, and the third installment has emerged as the highest opener of the franchise just like its second installment. For the uninitiated, Mardaani had made an opening day collection of Rs 3.40cr while Mardaani 2 earned Rs 3.80cr on day 1. In fact, Mardaani 3 has emerged as Rani's highest opener in a decade.
