Goa Ujjwala Yojana Scheme
The Goan government has introduced the long-awaited Goa Ujjwala Yojana scheme. Under the scheme, approximately Rs 3,000 lump-sum amount will be transferred through DBT to eligible customers. This will be one-time assistance and will be offered per financial year. The financial assistance is equivalent to the cost of three domestic LPG refills.
The perks of the scheme is that there is no income ceiling and no employment-related restrictions for beneficiaries. Also, separate application categories have been introduced for existing beneficiaries under the Griha Aadhaar Scheme and Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSS).
Rising LPG and PNG costs often place an additional burden on family budgets, and this scheme aims to reduce that burden by offering direct financial assistance to eligible consumers.
