5 Major Rules For Booking Indane Gas, BharatGas, and HP Gas?
1: New 30 Days Gas Cylinder Rules:
Last month, the government revised its Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Amendment Order, 2026. The amendment aims to provide additional relaxation and convenience to domestic LPG consumers who subsequently obtain Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections.
Under the new rule, the moment you obtain PNG connections, you will have 30 days' time to terminate your LPG connections.
Since customers are asked to terminate their LPG connection within 30 days of getting PNG, the government has announced a provision that allows these customers to restore their LPG connection.
2. Indane Gas, HP Gas, Bharat Gas Booking Intervals Of 25-Days & 45-Days
Existing refill booking timelines remain unchanged and continue to be 25-days, 45-days and 35-days depending upon your locality.
This means, 25-days rule for refilling LPG remains unchanged for rural areas, while 45-days rules will remain intact for urban areas.
3. OTP-Mandatory For LPG Delivery:
Also, the government has made OTP-based LPG delivery mandatory. If you do not get an OTP on your registered mobile number, you will not receive the delivery of LPG. This is aimed at transparency in delivery and curbing black marketing.
4. PNG Customers Banned From New LPG
PNG customers are barred from applying for a new LPG connection or refilling their LPG cylinders. This is to curb the LPG supply shortage.
5. One Household, One Gas Connection
Additionally, the oil marketing companies are pushing for the 'One Household, One Gas Connection' rule with both LPG and PNG connections. The OMCs have directed customers to switch and surrender LPG connections for PNG wherever possible.
Notably, OMCs have already started to identify customers with both LPG and PNG connections. These customers are receiving messages to surrender their LPG connection and switch to only on PNG.
