LPG Prices From April 1: Indian oil marketing companies (OMCs) have announced deep cuts in LPG prices of 19 kg cylinders. The prices were reduced by Rs 41 to Rs 44.5 across metro cities. However, prices of 14.2 kg cylinders were unchanged. Notably, 19 kg of LPG is above Rs 1,900 in Chennai, more expensive than prices in Delhi and Mumbai, where LPG is below Rs 1,800 per cylinder.
OMCs like BPCL, HPCL, and Indian Oil revise LPG prices on a monthly basis.

LPG Prices Of 19Kg Cylinders:
LPG Prices In Delhi: In the national capital, the 19Kg LPG price has been trimmed by Rs 41 to Rs 1,762 per cylinder, compared to Rs 1,803 per cylinder in March 2025.
LPG Prices In Kolkata: The biggest cut in 19Kg cylinder prices is in the city of Kolkata, by Rs 44.5 per cylinder to Rs 1,868.5 compared to March's price of Rs 1,913.
LPG Prices In Mumbai: In the financial hub of India, 19Kg LPG price is reduced by Rs 42 to Rs 1,713.5 per cylinder with effect from April 1, compared to the previous month's price of Rs 1,755.5.
LPG Prices In Chennai: This southern city witnessed the second-highest cut compared to the above-mentioned metro giants. In Chennai, the 19 kg LPG price was brought down by Rs 43.5 to Rs 1,921.5 per cylinder from April 1, compared to Rs 1,965 per cylinder in March.
19kg LPG cylinder prices are trimmed after they were increased by Rs 5.5 to Rs 6 per cylinder in March 2025.
LPG Prices In 14.2Kg Cylinder:
Notably, Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) has kept LPG prices unchanged in 14.2 Kg cylinders for nine consecutive months since August 2024. Hence, in April 2025, the 14.2 kg cylinder price is at Rs 803 in Delhi, Rs 829 in Kolkata, Rs 802.50 in Mumbai, and Rs 818.50 in Chennai.
As per IOCL's website, Indane has now become one of the largest packed LPG brands in the world, with IndianOil as the second-largest marketer of LPG globally. Indane is a Consumer Superbrand as conferred by the Superbrands Council of India. It is a brand synonymous with safety, reliability, and convenience.
At present, Indane LPG is sold and delivered in eight different pack sizes. The 5 kg and 14.2 kg cylinders are largely meant for domestic use and comprise almost 90% of all gas distributed, while the 19 kg, 47.5 kg and 425 kg Jumbo cylinders are marketed for industrial and commercial consumption. The recently launched 5 kg and 10 kg cylinders made of fiber composite with a trendy and translucent look are the latest addition to the domestic category. IndianOil recently launched a small (2 Kg) cooking gas cylinder also known as Munna, 2 Kg FTL (Free trade LPG) cylinder, thus making available cooking gas cylinders from corner stores for the convenience of its customers. Munna, a mini cooking gas cylinder has been launched especially for catering to Students, working women, street vendors, migrant population in urban and semi urban areas who do not have local address proof, people with lower gas consumption, and commercial establishments with limited space. Indane LPG is also supplied in bulk to large-volume consumers in the manufacturing and engineering sectors.
How To Apply For New LPG Connection Online At Indian Oil:
Indane is available for domestic use generally in 14.2 Kg capacity cylinders and is also available in 5 Kg capacity cylinders in select few cities primarily in hilly / rural areas in the country.
New LPG Connections are now available on demand across the country. In case you do not have an LPG connection from any of the PSU Oil Companies in your household and you have a separate cooking area in your house you can have an Indane domestic connection in your household. For a domestic connection, you can visit nearest Indane distributor serving in your area and register for the connection with a valid proof of identity and residence. One of the following documents can be produced for proof of residence.
One of the following documents can be produced for proof of residence: Ration Card; Electricity Bill; Telephone Bill; Passport; Employer's Certificate; Flat Allotment/possession letter; House registration paper; LIC policy; Voter's identity card; PAN card number; Aadhaar card; Driving licence; and rent receipt.
However, in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu states, as per the requirement of the State Government, a Ration Card is a must for the issue of new connections for prospective domestic LPG customers.
On registration, the distributor will send you an intimation letter through registered post. You need to carry the letter and the envelope to the distributor to avail the connection
The Indane connection will be released to you immediately. However, before the release of an LPG connection, you should have an ISI mark Hotplate conforming to IS:4246 and a Suraksha LPG hose confirming to IS:9573 (Type IV), so that after the release of your Indane connection, it may be installed at your residence immediately.
However, for the release of your Indane connection, you will be required to pay a security deposit at the following rates:
In North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Manipur -- security deposit of Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,150 is required to be paid for a 14.2 kg cylinder and 5 kg cylinder. Notably, payment of Rs 200 is also required as a pressure regulator.
Meanwhile, in the rest of India, the security deposit amount is Rs 2,200 for a 14.2 kg cylinder, and Rs 1,150 for a 5kg cylinder. While the amount for a pressure regulator is Rs 250.
Also, since August 2015, IOC launched the facility of release of LPG connection with online payment and issuance of e-SV under the Digital India initiative on at PAN India basis.
'e-SV' is the electronic subscription voucher which has the details of a number of cylinders and pressure regulator loaned to the consumer against the security deposit. This document is emailed to the customer upon release of the LPG connection online, as per the main statement.
