Credit Card Update: Top financial firms like IDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, SBI Credit Card, Axis Bank, etc are set to bring major credit card changes from 1 April 2025. These changes are majorly related to the revision of cash and reward benefits structures.
Most of these credit card changes are linked to restricted airport lounge benefits, milestone benefits and may significantly impact the benefits availed by frequent travellers. If you own a credit card and are used to of using its benefit during air travel, here are all the details about credit card changes, set to be implemented from 1 April, 2025.

IDFC Bank Credit card
IDFC Bank is phasing out its Club Vistara IDFC First credit card. According to its official website, people can no longer apply for Club Vistara IDFC First Credit Card. Meanwhile, the milestone benefits available for existing members will be discontinued on March 31, 2025. Customers can still earn Maharaja points till the end of the month. As per the revised structure, Club Vistara Silver Membership will no longer be available, and people won't be able to earn complimentary vouchers, including premium economy tickets.
SBI Credit Card changes
SBI Credit Card has announced multiple changes related to reward points structure and benefits related to credit card usage. As per SBI Card's website, users of SimplyCLICK SBI Card will get lesser reward points on online spends at different online platforms.
Accrual of ten times of reward points on online spends at Swiggy with SimplyCLICK SBI will be reduced to 5X from 1 April 2025. However, benefits at other online spends like Apollo 24X7, BookMyShow, Cleartrip, etc, will remain as it is.
The accelerated benefit of 14 points per Rs 100 spent by primary cardholders on purchases of Air India tickets will be reduced to 5 reward points. The change will be for the Air India SBI Platinum Credit Card.
In another update, the accelerated benefit of 30 reward points per Rs 100 spent by credit card holders on Air India tickets will be reduced to 10 reward points. The change will be applicable on Air India SBI Signature Credit Card.
Axis Bank credit card
Axis Bank's Vistara Credit card benefits will be revised from 1 April, 2025. As per the revised benefits, cardholders who renew their card on or after the date will not be charged any annual fee. But many credit card benefits will not be available from next month.
ICICI Bank credit card
ICICI Bank has revised features and benefits for its ICICI Bank Credit Card holders from 31 March 2025. The bank is tightening its eligibility for complimentary airport lounge access. According to its official website, credit card holders wont be able to get complimentary lounge access after 31 March, 2025 as reward on their minimum spend of Rs 75,000 between Sep 26, 2024 and Dec 25, 2024.
A few changes were announced by banks like Axis bank and IDFC bank related to their credit card benefits are in alignment with the Air India and Vistara merger. A few credit card will be eventually phased out and replaced with other credit cards.
