Why Aadhaar and UAN linking?

Procedure for linking UAN and Aadhar
As an initial step, you as a member of the EPFO, need to know your UAN no. which can be known either by accessing the portal with your member ID details or your employer can be reached to know your UAN. After this, you need to activate your UAN account by clicking on the available link for activation and generating the password using it.

As a next step you need to provide your Aadhaar details to be linked to the UAN. For the same you have to press on the Manage link on your UAN account. Ensure correct details for EPFO to process your request online. Click on the Save tab after submitting the details.
These documents provided for activation of your UAN will be cross-checked by the authorities and after a weeks time shall be listed under approved KYC of your UAN portal.
As not all pensioners and employees are tech-savvy, EPFO has also made the offline floor available for seeding Aadhaar with UAN. For the same, individuals can visit any of the select CSC or Common Service Centers or EPFO office and provide Aadhaar.
