Steven Tisch: Career Highlights

In the 1970s and 1980s, Tisch created small films with backing from Columbia Pictures. His first feature film, Outlaw Blues, was released in 1976. He went on to produce Risky Business in 1983, which gave Tom Cruise his first lead role. In 1984, he produced the controversial made-for-TV movie The Burning Bed.

In 1986, Tisch launched the Steve Tisch Company, specializing in small-screen films. He produced critically acclaimed films including Forrest Gump, American History X, and Snatch. Forrest Gump earned Tisch the Best Motion Picture Academy Award and Golden Globe. He is the only person to have received a Golden Globe, Academy Award, Primetime Emmy Award nomination, and Super Bowl Ring.

In 1999, Tisch developed and produced the aborted television pilot Mission Extreme. From 2001 to the present, he has been a partner in Escape Artists, an independently financed film production company. Escape Artists has released films such as The Weather Man, The Pursuit of Happyness, Seven Pounds, Knowing, and The Taking of Pelham 123. Tisch's television projects include Perpetual Grace, LTD. and Servant.

In 2005, Tisch became chairman and Executive Vice President of the New York Giants. He has accepted the Vince Lombardi Trophy twice for the Giants' Super Bowl victories.
