The Sorbonne University Association (Association Sorbonne Université) is a group of 10 academic institutions affiliated with Sorbonne University. It was founded in June 2010 by Panthéon-Assas University, Paris-Sorbonne University, and Pierre-and-Marie-Curie University. The association comprises nearly 60,000 students annually, including 5,000 Ph.D. students. The members have set up projects to strengthen relations and create new academic courses and research programs. The association is associated with nineteen Nobel laureates, seven Field Medalists, ten billionaires, and three heads of state. It has been granted €130 million by the French government and has a budget of €680 million.

The history of the Sorbonne University Association dates back to 2010 when it formed its first group, later being joined by other institutions such as the National Museum of Natural History. Panthéon-Assas University left the group in 2013 but became an associate member in 2014. In 2018, Paris-Sorbonne University and Pierre and Marie Curie University merged to form Sorbonne University. There are possibilities for Panthéon-Assas University and University of Technology of Compiègne to merge with Sorbonne University in the future.

The founding members of the Sorbonne University Association as of January 2018 include Sorbonne University, University of Technology of Compiègne, INSEAD, National Museum of Natural History, Pôle Supérieur d'Enseignement Paris Boulogne-Billancourt, Centre international d'études pédagogiques, French National Centre for Scientific Research, French Institute of Health and Medical Research, French Institute for Research in Computer Science and Automation, and French Institute of Research for the Development.

The associate members of the association as of January 2018 include Panthéon-Assas University (Paris 2), Archives nationales, Paris Notarial Institute, Centre des monuments nationaux, École de formation professionnelle des barreaux de la cour d'appel de Paris, École Nationale des Chartes, French National School for the Judiciary, École Navale, École des officiers de la gendarmerie nationale, Camp Coëtquidan, École nationale supérieure de la Police, and National Institute for Art History.

The Sorbonne University Association has multiple campuses, including the main campus in the historic central Sorbonne building, the Jussieu Campus occupied by Pierre and Marie Curie University, and other campuses in Paris, the Paris region, and other cities in France. It also has international establishments in Asia and academic partnerships worldwide.

In terms of academics, the association focuses on projects to strengthen relations and create a new international institution. It has the Sorbonne College for bachelor's degree teaching and the Sorbonne Doctoral College for PhD candidates. The association offers cross-institutional academic courses, double bachelor's degrees, major-minor programs, and a professionalizing course in business management. PhD students can receive an honorary diploma labeled "Sorbonne University" and participate in cross-disciplinary PhDs with a formal graduation ceremony.

The Sorbonne University Association also emphasizes research and the development of research programs. It has created four new academic positions and established partnerships with other academic institutions for bilateral research programs.

In terms of academic results, Pierre and Marie Curie University ranked 35th in the world, 1st among French universities, and 6th in Europe in the ARWU 2014-2015 global university rankings. The association's main universities and institutions are considered top in their fields in the national university ranking.

For student life, the association aims to optimize students' living conditions and support associative activities. It provides financial support for student initiatives and associations. There are various events and activities such as a cross-institutional student ball, welcome week, eloquence contest, and a musical ensemble called Chœur-Orchestre Sorbonne-Universités (COSU). The association also has consolidated sports facilities and participates in student sport competitions.

The Sorbonne University Association is associated with notable individuals, including fourteen Nobel laureates, seven Field Medalists, and many distinguished teachers. It has notable alumni in the fields of science, business, politics, and more.
