Google India announced new functionality for its payments app at its Google For India event. The new features include anything from the addition of 'Hinglish' as a language option to a new Bill Split option. Later this year, the Bill Split option will be available. A bill can be split with up to 20 persons.

Google Pay: How To Split Bills and Expenses With New Group?
Google Pay will soon allow customers in India to split bills and expenses for shopping, meals, and other payments, as announced at the Google for India 2021 event. Here's how to split your bills among your friends or family. A user spends Rs 1000 on lunch with three pals. If the user pays with Google Pay and all four friends are members of the Gpay app's Group, the user can simply choose the payment and divide it into four halves.
With the addition of a new group
Step 1: Open the Google Pay app on your phone.
Step 2: Tap Search Search at the top, then People, and then Split with friends.
Step 3: To add contacts to the group, search for and select the people you wish to include.
Step 4: Continue when you've selected all of the group members.
Step 5: Give your group a name.
Step 6: Click on Next
Step 7: Enter the entire amount of the bill.
Step 8: Click Done.
Decide how much each person owes. To evenly share the bill, follow these steps:
Step 9: To adjust how much someone owes, tap the amount next to their name.
Step 10 Tap Done after entering the amount they owe.
Google Pay: How To Split Bills and Expenses With New Group In Google Pay?
With the help of an existing group
Step 1: Launch the Google Pay application.
Step 2: Tap Search Split with Friends at the top of the screen.
Step 3: Select a group.
Step 4: Press the Next button.
Step 5: Enter the total amount owed.
Step 6: Press the Done button.
Step 7 Determine how much each person owes.
Next to their name, tap the amount.
Step 8: Enter the amount they owe and tap Done.
Step 9: Click to Send a request.
How to check the status of your shared expenses & send reminders?
Step 1: Open the Google Pay app on your phone.
Step 2: Tap Search Search at the top of the screen.
Step 3: Choose the group that you used to create the expense.
Step 4: Select "Expenses" from the drop-down menu.
Step 5: Select Send reminder next to the person who owes you money.
However, note that there can only be one spending tracker per group.
