The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has significantly simplified transaction processing. When you run out of cash or don't want to deal with it, you can send or receive money by simply using your UPI ID. From purchasing groceries to paying utility bills, the payments interface is useful in a variety of situations and is now accepted almost everywhere. However, did you know that the amount you can transfer and the number of transactions you can make via UPI are both limited?
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has set daily limits on UPI transfers as well as the number of transactions per day across online payment apps such as Gpay, PhonePe, and others. Here is the transaction limit for using UPI Apps.
What is UPI?
What is UPI?The Unified Payments Interface was developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), an RBI-regulated entity (UPI). UPI is based on the IMPS infrastructure and allows you to instantly transfer money between any two bank accounts.
UPI money transfer limit
According to NPCI guidelines, a person can make a maximum payment of Rs 1 lakh per day using UPI. The limit varies by bank, with small banks like Canara Bank limiting daily UPI transactions to Rs 25,000 and large banks like SBI limiting them to Rs 100,000.
UPI transfer limit per day
Aside from the money transfer limit, there is a limit to the number of UPI transfers that can be completed in a single day. The daily limit for UPI transfers is 20 transactions. If the limit is exceeded, it must be renewed after 24 hours. However, the limit may differ depending on bank policies.
GPay UPI transfer limit
Google Pay, like Amazon's payment platform, does not permit transfers of more than one lakh rupees. There is also a daily transaction limit, and you are not permitted to send money more than 10 times in a single day across all UPI applications. If a money transfer request exceeds Rs 2,000, GPay suspends the daily transaction limits.
PhonePe UPI transfer limit
PhonePe has set a daily limit of Rs 100,000 for UPI transactions, which is also dependent on the bank account from which the funds are transferred. A person can initiate a maximum of 10 or 20 PhonePe UPI transactions per day, depending on the bank's policies.
Paytm UPI transfer limit
A maximum of Rs. 1 lakh can be transferred through Paytm UPI in a single day. Paytm supports up to 20,000 UPI transactions per hour. Paytm UP has a daily transaction limit of 20 and a transaction limit of five per hour.
Amazon Pay UPI transfer limit
Amazon has set a maximum limit of Rs 1,000,000 for UPI money transfers.Users can only transact up to INR 5,000 in the first 24 hours after registering for Amazon Pay UPI.The number of transactions per day is determined by the bank and is limited to 20 per day.
