The Defence PSU Stock Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is in sharp focus on Monday's trade after the company's board approved signing a Joint Venture Agreement with Safran Electronics and Defence (France) for the Project HAMMER programme.

This is quite a major strategic collaboration for India's defence sector, as it is expected to boost localisation and long-term supply visibility for precision-guided weapon systems.
BEL-Safran Joint Venture Details
Under the proposed structure, BEL and Safran Electronics will incorporate a private limited company under the Companies Act, 2013, which will function as a centre of excellence and technology-cum-teaming partner for the manufacturing, supply, maintenance, and repair of the Guidance Kit of the HAMMER weapon system.
As per the exchnage filing, "The joint venture will follow a 50:50 equity structure between BEL and Safran Electronics.The entity will begin with an authorised share capital of Rs. 1,00,000, which may later be scaled up to Rs. 10 crore or higher depending on operational requirements."
BEL Share Price Today and Market Performance
At the time of writing, BEL share price today stands at Rs. 435.90, trading marginally higher by about 0.08% and remaining range-bound but positive. The defence stock has gained roughly 6.25% over the past month and is currently trading around 81% above its 52-week low,
Antique Stock Broking has maintained a BUY rating on BEL with a target price of Rs. 532 per share, citing strong medium-term growth prospects for defence public sector undertakings.
According to the brokerage, "rising defence capital expenditure, expanding order pipelines, and localisation initiatives are likely to support earnings visibility for BEL in the foreseeable future. We believe defence PSUs have strong growth opportunities in the foreseeable timeframe. Hence, we maintain BUY rating on the stock"
