Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann says the Rs 286 crore Infosys campus in Mohali will create about 2,700 direct jobs and many indirect roles. He says investors are returning to Punjab, citing investment proposals worth over Rs 1.55 lakh crore since March 2022, and highlights the Progressive Punjab Investment Summit in Mohali.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said a new Infosys campus in Mohali, costing Rs 286 crore, will create jobs for youth. Mann said the project should give direct work to about 2,700 people. Mann also said it will lead to thousands of indirect jobs. The remarks came after the project’s groundbreaking ceremony.

Mann said Punjab is seeing improvement in industry, with investors returning to the state. Mann alleged that before 2022, several industries left Punjab due to extortion and pressure on industrialists. Mann said investors are now coming back with renewed confidence. Mann added that the state government will fully support the Infosys project.
Infosys campus in Mohali: jobs and project features
Mann said the first phase will build an integrated campus with key facilities. Mann listed a software development block and a food court. Mann said other facilities will also be part of the plan. Mann said the campus will have a built-up area of about 3.5 lakh square feet.
Mann said the Mohali campus will have seating capacity for around 3,000 people. Mann linked this capacity to the expected staffing levels in the coming years. Mann also expressed hope that more companies will invest in Punjab. Mann said such investments can expand employment options for youth.
Infosys investment in Punjab: government and investor outlook
Mann thanked Infosys for choosing to invest in Punjab. Mann also recalled the contribution of the company’s founder, N R Narayana Murthy. Mann said Murthy played a role in the growth of India’s IT sector. Mann said Punjab’s policies are helping build stronger confidence among investors.
Mann said the Punjab government has received investment proposals worth over Rs 1.55 lakh crore since March 2022. Mann said these proposals are expected to create jobs for about 5.44 lakh youth. Mann said industry-friendly policies, corruption-free governance, and a peaceful environment are supporting this trend.
Infosys and other investments in Punjab: upcoming events and projects
Mann said the Progressive Punjab Investment Summit will be held in Mohali from March 13-15. Mann said the summit will open new opportunities for industrial growth in the state. Mann linked the event to stronger engagement with investors. Mann presented it as part of the state’s wider industrial push.
Mann also said a Rs 3,200 crore project of Tata Steel will be inaugurated in Ludhiana on March 20. Mann said the Tata Steel project is expected to generate around 2,500 jobs. Mann said these projects together indicate rising industrial activity. Mann said the state aims to keep this momentum.
Cabinet minister Sanjeev Arora and Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjeet Singh Sawhney were present at the ceremony. Mann said Punjab will keep supporting major projects like the Infosys campus in Mohali. Mann connected new investments with job creation plans for youth. Mann said the government expects further industrial proposals in the state.
