India created history after defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad yesterday.
By winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, the team collected many laurels. India became the first to win three T20 World Cup titles, the first side to win back-to-back T20 World Cups, the only team to successfully defend the T20 World Cup trophy, and also the first host nation to lift the T20 World Cup while hosting the tournament.

The sweeping victory made India lift their third T20 World Cup title and secured the biggest prize money payout in the tournament's history.
T20 World Cup 2026 prize money
The total prize money allocated for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 was roughly Rs 112 crore. Team India, i.e., the winning team, received around Rs 27.48 crore, while New Zealand earned at home around Rs 14.65 crore for finishing as runners-up.
