Google's Tez is a new digital payment app for India. Tez works using NPCI's (National Payments Corporation of India) Unified Payments Interface (UPI), the format for money transfers.
Google Tez is an online payment app launched by Google. Tez uses UPI (Unified Payments Interface) and works with all major banks, including Axis, HDFC Bank, ICICI, State Bank of India, etc. Tez user can send and receive payments directly from your bank account. There's no need to open a separate account and load money.
How to Use Google Tez App
Like UPI enabled apps like BHIM app, Google Tez also uses your bank account to make and receive payments. You need to add your bank account to Tez before this make sure that your mobile banking is enabled in your account. If mobile banking is not enabled, UPI won't work in your phone. Mobile number is used for connecting with your bank account.

Step 1

Step 2
Choose your bank from the list shown. You can find all UPI enabled banks in the list. If your bank is not on the list, it means your bank doesn't support UPI. Unified Payment Interface or UPI enables all bank account holders to send and receive money from their mobile phone without the need to enter bank account information or net banking userid/ password. Step 3
After choosing the bank, select the SIM card you want to use. Most of the phones are dual sims now you need to select the SIM card that is registered with your bank account. You will get a message in mobile number for authentification. The message charge will be levied from your phone balance. After registering it, Tez will show your bank accounts.
Step 4
Tap on the bank account you want to add to Google Tez. The app will ask to enter your UPI PIN to add the account. If you don't have a UPI PIN for this account, you can set using your debit card details. For this, you need to enter last six digits of your debit card number and expiry date. You will get an OTP on your mobile number. Enter this and set the new UPI PIN for your bank account. After entering the UPI PIN, your bank account will be linked to Tez.
