What is UPI?

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), an RBI-regulated entity, created the Unified Payment Interface (UPI). It enables you to make instant online payments between any two bank accounts by using a valid UPI ID, which is a virtual payment address linked to your bank account.

What is UPI ID and UPI PIN?

A UPI PIN is a four or six-digit pass code that you create/set when you register for UPI and can be used to authenticate UPI transactions. After you register for UPI, you will be given a UPI ID, which is a virtual payment address linked to your bank account. To complete any UPI transaction, you will need your UPI ID and PIN.

How to set up Amazon Pay UPI?

By registering for UPI through the Amazon.in app, you can set up Amazon Pay UPI to make UPI transactions. The Amazon.in app offers UPI services in collaboration with Axis Bank Limited.

1. Open the Amazon app on your mobile phone.
2. Go to the Amazon Pay dashboard and select Amazon Pay UPI.
3. If you have multiple SIM cards in your phone, select the SIM card / mobile number associated with your bank account and tap Verify your mobile number.
4. Following mobile number verification, select your bank from the list and follow the on-screen instructions.

How to pay with Amazon Pay UPI ID on Amazon App:

1. Open the Amazon.in app.
2. Add the items to your shopping cart.
3. Select your linked bank account with your Amazon Pay UPI ID on the Select a payment method page.
4. After you've confirmed your order, enter your UPI PIN to finish the payment.
5. When the payment is complete, an order placement confirmation will appear in your Amazon.in app.

How to Pay with an Amazon Pay UPI ID on third-party apps/websites:

1. On the third-party app/website, enter and validate your Amazon Pay UPI ID.
2. When it has been validated, open the Payment Request notification from your Amazon.in app.
3. To view the request, go to the Amazon Pay dashboard in your Amazon.in app and tap You have pending actions.
4. To complete the payment, review the request, tap Pay Now, and enter your UPI PIN.
5. When the payment is complete, the Amazon.in app will display the Transaction Successful message.
