RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. Company History and Annual Growth Details

The Company was incorporated as RailTel Corporation of India Limited on September 26, 2000, as a public limited company under the Companies Act, 1956, pursuant to a certificate of incorporation issued by the Assistant Registrar of Companies, N.C.T. of Delhi and Haryana. Our Company received its certificate for commencement of business from the Deputy Registrar of Companies, N.C.T. of Delhi and Haryana on October 9, 2000. The CIN of the Company is U64202DL2000GOI107905.

Major events and milestones :

2000

- Incorporated as ‘Schedule A’ Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways

2002

- Obtained the license for infrastructure providers category – II (IP-2) license to start commercial operations of leasing bandwidth to private telecom companies

2012

- Conferred “Mini Ratna Category-I” status by Ministry of Railways, Government of India

2014

- Completed the SASEC Regional Network Project and launched TpaaS services.

- Incorporated wholly owned subsidiary – RailTel Enterprises Limited

2017

- Crossed Rs. 1,000 crore total income for the first time since the incorporation.

2018

- Implemented e-Office – paperless working system in South Central Railway HQ and Guntur division.

- RailTel Signs MoU with BEL for cooperation in Cloud services,IoT, e-governance 

2023 

 -Railtel Corporation Of India Limited has receipt of final order passed by the MCA in the matter of Scheme of Amalgamation between RailTel Enterprises Limited and RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. 

-RailTel’s home internet service, RailWire, has bagged the ET Government PSU Leadership & Excellence Awards 2025 (Gold) in the category of "Reinforcing Communication & Bridging the Digital Divide."

-RailTel Signs MoU with NBCC for Collaborative Development of Data CentreProjects in India and Overseas.
