SEL Manufacturing Company Ltd. Company History and Annual Growth Details

Our Company was incorporated on May 8, 2000. It is a part of the R S Saluja
Group of Companies set up by Mr. Ram Saran Saluja. The R S Saluja Group has
been in existence for more than 35 years, having facilities for manufacture of yarns,
fabrics, garments in addition to our manufacturing facilities we also have in-house
facilities for garment design and development among others. As of now, the
R S Saluja Group is mainly engaged in the activities of manufacture of yarns for
domestic and export sale, knitting & dyeing of fabric partially for domestic sale &
rest for captive consumption and manufacture and export of ready made garments.

Change of Status and Registered Office

Our registered office was shifted from Rahon Road, Opposite Octroi Post, Ludhiana
to 706, Industrial Area A, Ludhiana E - 106, with effect from June 20, 2001 by a
resolution of our Board.

We were initially incorporated under the name Saluja Exim Limited as a public limited
company on May 8, 2000 and received our certificate of commencement of business
on June 2, 2000. The name of our Company was changed to SEL Manufacturing
Company Limited by a special resolution of the members passed at an extraordinary
general meeting held on June 27, 2003. The fresh certificate of incorporation consequent
on change of name was granted to our Company on July 21, 2003, by the Registrar of
Companies, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh at Jalandhar (RoC).

The name of our Company again changed to Saluja Exim Limited by a special resolution
of the members passed at an extraordinary general meeting held on November 10, 2003.
The fresh certificate of incorporation consequent on change of name was granted to
our Company on November 14, 2003, by the RoC.

The name of our Company was once again changed to SEL Manufacturing Company
Limited by a special resolution of the members passed at an extraordinary general meeting
held on January 31, 2004. The fresh certificate of incorporation consequent on change of
name was granted to our Company on February 9, 2004, by the RoC.

The status of our Company was changed to a private limited company by a special
resolution of the members passed at an extraordinary general meeting held on March
15, 2004. The fresh certificate of incorporation consequent on change of name was
granted to our Company on March 31,2004 by the RoC. The status of our Company
was subsequently changed to a public limited company by a special resolution of the
members passed at an extraordinary general meeting held on March 14, 2006. The fresh
certificate of incorporation consequent on change of name was granted to our Company
on March 16, 2006 by the RoC.

2000

2004

2005

-Our Company became a partner in M/s S E Exports w.e.f April 1, 2005

-Beginning of vertical integration with the setting up of first yarn spinning unit at Neelon, District Ludhiana, Punjab.

2006

-Amalgamation of SPPL & SFL with our Company w.e.f April 1, 2004 vide court order dated February 23, 2006

-Conversion of our Company from 'private company' to 'public company'.

-Acquisition of 100% EOU spinning unit of Saluja Cotex Private Limited.

-Acquisition of assets & property of Mangla Cotex Limited through bidding process from official liquidator vide order dated March 23, 2006 passed by the Hon'ble High Court of Punjab & Haryana at Chandigarh

2007

-SEL Manufacturing acquires 99% stake in firm Kudu Industries.

-Setting-up of second yarn spinning facility at Rahon, District Nawanshahr, Punjab

2008

-SEL Manufacturing Company Ltd has acquired the Manufacturing facilities of Preet Hosiery Exports Ltd, Ludhiana.

-The Company acquired one Yarn and Fabric Dyeing unit and one Garment manufacturing unit, both located in Ludhiana.

-The Comapny took a step towards forward integration with the establishment of first Terry Towel unit at Rahon, District Nawanshahr, Punjab.

2009

-The Company has acquired a majority stake in SEL Textiles Pvt Ltd, thereby making it a subsidiary.

-The Company acquired two spinning units located at Neemrana, District Alwar, Rajasthan and Hansi, District Hisar, Haryana.

-SEL Manufacturing Company Limited issued GDRs which were listed at Luxembourg Stock Exchange.

2010

-Open-End yarns added in the yarn spinning portfolio.

-Setting-up of first bio-mass based captive power generation plant at Rahon, District Nawanshahr, Punjab.

-Setting-up of second Terry Towel unit at Rahon, thereby increasing the capacity levels to 45 TPD.

2011

-Setting-up of IndiaÂs largest spinning unit at a single location, located at Mehatwara, District Sehore, Madhya Pradesh.

-Acquired another Garment manufacturing unit in Ludhiana.

-Went live with one of the fastest ERP implementations in the industry.

-SEL ranked amongst the top 400 mid-cap companies in India by Dalal Street Limited.

-The Company laid the foundation stone for state-of-the-art Greenfield Mega Integrated Textile Park at Village Panjava, Tehsil Malout, District Muktsar in Punjab.

2012

-Setting-up of the second bio-mass based captive power generation plant at Rahon, District Nawanshahr, Punjab.

-Doubling of capacities of the spinning units at Neemrana, Rajasthan and Hansi, Haryana.

-SEL ranked 16th as per total income in the textiles sector in the Dun & BradstreetÂs IndiaÂs Top 500 Companies 2011

-SEL conferred the status of a Trading House by the Office of the Joint Director General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.

-SEL ranked as the 10th largest in analysis of the EuropeÂs top 100 Yarn & Thread Suppliers conducted by Plimsoll.

2013.

-SEL Manufacturing Company Ltd has Commencement of Operations of New Unit.
