The company was incorporated at Bombay on 3rd September, 1985 and obtained the Certificate of Commencement of Business on 4th February, 1986. It was promoted by MR. K.K.Hitakri & Mr. Ved Kapoor of Hitakari group and Mr. B.M.Chaturvedi. The company manufactures nonwoven fabrics based on needle puching technology. The preparatory plant for non-woven fabrics was imported from Heregeth Hollingworth of West Germany.

2009

-Company name has been changed from Hitkari Fibres Ltd to SRM Energy Ltd.

--Registered Office of the Company has been shifted to 36/37, Mittal Chambers, Nariman Point, Mumbai - 400 021

2010

- SRM Energy Ltd has informed that the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on July 08, 2010, Mr. Sudarshan Parab has been appointed as Director of the Company with immediate effect.

- SRM Energy Ltd has informed that pursuant to the compliances of the various provisions of the Companies Act, 1956 Mr. D. Sundararajan, Director & CEO of the Company has been appointed as Managing Director & CEO of the Company with immediate effect subject to the approval of the shareholders in the forthcoming Meeting.

2011
-The Company has received Environment Clearance Approval from the Ministry of Environment & Forest, New Delhi.
-Received Clearance from Railway Authorities for Crossing of Railway lines for laying Coal Conveyors and Sea Water Pipelines.

2013
-Received clearance from National Highways Authority for crossing highways for laying Coal Conveyors and Sea Water Pipelines.
-The Company is changed from 601, Pressman House, 70A, Nehru Road, C.T.S. No. 76& 87, Vile Parle (East), Mumbai - 400 099 to office no. 54, Bajaj Bhawan, 5th Floor, 226, Nariman Point, Mumbai - 400 02.

2014
-The Company is changed from 54, Bajaj Bhawan, 5th Floor, 226,Nariman Point, Mumbai- 400021 to B/23, Gundecha Onclave, Kherani Road, Sakinaka, Andheri (E), Mumbai- 400072.
