LPG Price in Andhra Pradesh (26th April 2024)

The Domestic LPG (14.2 kg) price in Andhra Pradesh (Guntur) stands at ₹844.50. No change recorded in the LPG price compared to last month. Over the past 12 months, the LPG price trend has been decreasing, with a decrease of ₹300 from May 2023 to April 2024. The most significant price decrease was ₹200 in August 2023.

The LPG price in Andhra Pradesh is mainly determined by the state-run oil companies and the same is subject to change on a monthly basis based on the global crude fuel rates. The rise in crude oil leads to a rise in the LPG rates in Andhra Pradesh and vice-versa. LPG is a safe and colourless gas and hence its use has tremendously increased in the domestic and industrial sector. The government of India is currently providing domestic LPG Gas cylinder (14.2 kgs) in Andhra Pradesh at subsidized rates to the low-income section of the society. The subsidy amount will be directly transferred to the customer’s bank account. Currently, the cooking gas in India is easily accessible to most of the people.

The usage of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas in Andhra Pradesh has gone up over the last few years. Both the domestic and non-domestic LPG cylinders usage in the state has registered growth. The government has eased out the availability of the LPG gas cylinders for the households and this has led to its increased use. Apart from this with an intention to provide the LPG cylinders at a lesser rate especially for the domestic household purpose, the government is providing subsidy on LPG gas cylinders meant for the domestic purpose. The subsidy amount is directly transferred to the customer’s bank account which has been linked with the gas connection.

With an intention to provide clean cooking fuel – LPG, the central government of India has launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana which aims to safeguard the health of the Indian women and children by providing them LPG gas connection. The programme was launched on May 1, 2016. The scheme covers BPL families and the connections will be issued in the name of the women of the household.

In the state of Andhra Pradesh close to 1,84,607 number of connections under Ujjwala Scheme has been released as on October 23, 2018.
