Shares of Maran owned Sun Network and SpiceJet plunged today on reports that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has questioned the Maran Brothers in Aircel-Maxis deal case.

Dayanidhi's brother Kalandhi is the MD of Sun TV. Maran controlled SpiceJet shares were also seen trading lower by 7.98% at Rs 25.95 at 10.05 am IST. Sun TV Network shares plunged 10% and was seen trading at Rs 263, after reaching intra-day low of Rs 176.

According to PTI, former telecom minister Dayanidhi Maran has been questioned by the CBI in connection with the allegations that he had received Rs 547 crore as kickbacks from a Malaysian company in the controversial Aircel-Maxis deal.

According to reports, there is a allegation that former Aircel Chief C Sivasankaran that Maran as the then telecom minister favoured Maxis-group in the takeover of his company and in return investments were made by the company through Astro network in Sun TV owned by Maran family.
