Blue chip stocks hammered to 52-week lows
Shares in blue chip companies hit 52-week lows after poor market sentiments following political uncertainty in the country and global worries linked to Cyprus pushed markets lower.
Shares in global aluminium major Hindalco dropped to a 52-week low of Rs 91.53 on the National Stock Exchange and was last trading at Rs 93.15.
Similarly, MMTC in which the government sold a stake recently, hit a new 52-week low of Rs 266, down from a 52-week high of Rs 873.
India's leading power equipment manufacturer Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) slid to a 52-week low of Rs 184.80 on persistent selling.
Other renowned stocks that hit their 52-week lows were BEML, Reliance Infra, ABB and GTL Infra.
