    After making Aadhaar compulsory for many schemes and projects, the government now plans to make it mandatory for stock market investors. Aadhaar may soon become mandatory for buying shares and mutual funds.

    The move is to protect the investors from bad trading practices and conversion of black money through the stock market. It has been suspected that the practice of tax evasion and converting un accounted money into white money are taking place through stock markets.
