Markets End Higher, NCC Surges 7%
It was a rather quiet day of trading for the markets with the benchmark indices ending higher by nearly 0.30 per cent, even as global markets were trading with gains.
It was a day in which most of the auto stocks did well including the likes of Maruti, Bajaj Auto and Mahindra and Mahindra. The Sensex ended the day higher by nearly 125 points, while the Nifty gained 34 points in trade.
Shares in NCC gained as much as 7 per cent and was among the top performers from the small cap index. The stock also saw a sharp surge in volumes.
Heidelberg Cement saw its shares fall even after net profit at the company was up 7% to Rs 62.4 crore for the quarter ending Sept 30, 2020. The stock ended the day more than 4 per cent lower.
The stock of IDBI Bank ended the day higher after the net Interest Income at the bank was up 4% to Rs 1,695.2 crore and the bank reported a net profit of Rs 324 crore from net loss of Rs 3,458 crore.
The stock of IDBI Bank ended the day with gains of almost 2 per cent in trade. Meanwhile, European markets were up marginally, after successive days of fall.
