Platforms such as Blinkit and Zepto are widening assortments beyond groceries to include herbal gulal, pichkaris, apparel, mobile pouches, and traditional treats. The peak-day surge creates logistics pressure as riders deliver quickly amid crowded neighbourhood celebrations.
India’s quick commerce apps are preparing for heavy Holi demand in 2026. Many shoppers are using phones instead of kirana visits. Orders are expected for gulal, pichkaris, and sweets. Companies are also pushing non-grocery needs. These include non-toxic herbal colours, white t-shirts, and waterproof mobile pouches for quick delivery.

Holi creates a sharp rush that often peaks in morning hours on one day. This puts pressure on delivery systems and local stocks. Riders also face busy lanes filled with revellers. Firms may rely on surge pricing, order batching, and slightly longer delivery windows during peak periods, despite fast delivery claims.

Companies see logistics as the main test during Holi. The work depends on delivery partners choosing to stay on the road. Many deliveries must happen before celebrations begin in each area. The largest issue is managing fleets during active colour play. Rider safety remains a key concern while routes stay crowded and unpredictable.
Blinkit quick commerce Holi storefront and festive essentials
Blinkit has set up a Holi Hai themed storefront for festival shopping. The range covers herbal gulal, water balloons, spray cans and pichkaris. The list also includes white cotton t-shirts and kurtas. Other items include body oils, jhumkis, gujiyas and thandai, aimed at last-minute home needs.
Zepto quick commerce Holi Carnival and Holika Dahan items
Zepto has launched a Holi Carnival section with wider festival items. It is offering cow dung cakes and hawan firewood for Holika Dahan. The pichkari selection includes special tanks, electric guns and blasters. Zepto is also selling hair wigs, party goggles, and party poppers.
Swiggy Instamart quick commerce Holi deals and brand tie-ups
Swiggy Instamart is running co-branded campaigns with Coca-Cola, boAt, Portonics, and Daawat. Its Holi storefront includes pichkaris starting at Rs 15. The app is also listing instant food options and party decor props. The approach signals a wider shift from groceries to broader local store needs.
Platforms are also preparing for after-party demand, alongside pre-Holi buying. Some apps are listing hangover cures, hydration drinks, heavy-duty detergents and bath essentials. With shopping shifting to app taps, quick commerce is positioning itself as a neighbourhood store. The sector now expects delivery pressure, safety risks, and high-volume orders around Holi.
