Max Fashion says it aims to open 40–50 stores across India in the next year and reach 100 stores in Tamil Nadu within two years. The brand inaugurated a new-format outlet in Valasaravakkam, Chennai, designed as a 14,000 sq ft space with dedicated sections for men, women, and kids.
Max Fashion said it aimed to add about 40-50 stores across India over the next year. The company also planned to roll out a new store format in future outlets. Some existing stores were set to be redesigned in the same layout, according to Max Fashion India CEO Sumit Chandan.

The retailer opened a new outlet at Valasaravakkam in Chennai on Saturday. Actress Kayadu Lohar inaugurated the store. The launch took Max Fashion to its 34th store in Chennai and its 71st outlet in Tamil Nadu, company officials said.
Max Fashion expansion plan for India stores
Explaining the wider plan, Chandan said, "We are planning to open around 40-50 stores nationally in the next year. This new store format will be followed in all our upcoming stores and some of our already existing stores will also be converted into this format.\" The company did not share a timeline for each conversion.
Chandan linked the Chennai expansion to local demand and changing preferences. Chandan said, \"Chennai has always been one of our most dynamic and culturally vibrant markets, and the launch of our Valasaravakkam store reflects our continued commitment to growing alongside its evolving fashion community.\" The company said the new outlet supported its city network.
Max Fashion store format and Chennai outlet details
The Valasaravakkam store covered 14,000 sq ft, the company said. Max Fashion said the layout was more open and organised than before. It included separate sections for men, women and kids. Officials said this design would be repeated in upcoming stores.
Max Fashion Tamil Nadu stores target
Max Fashion Regional Business Head Sathish Kumar said, \"We are delighted to mark the opening of our 34st store in Chennai and 71st in Tamil Nadu.\" Kumar said the company was already present in Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin and Nagercoil. The company did not announce new city launches.
Kumar said the state remained a key area in the expansion map. \"We are planning to take the number of stores in Tamil Nadu to 100 in the next two years,\" Kumar added. With the Valasaravakkam opening, Max Fashion said it would focus on more outlets and wider adoption of the new format.
