In case you don’t complete the process before Feb 2018, services on your mobile will be disconnected as per the directive from Government of India.
As per the recent government directive, all the existing Mobile customers have to link Aadhaar with their mobile numbers. The customers can visit the nearest Store/Retailer of their telecom service operator with their Aadhaar number and complete this process.
To avoid fraud and fake sim cards, Government of India has taken this new action. Users of all networks such as Idea, Airtel, Vodafone, MTNL, BSNL, etc. have to link Aadhaar card number with the mobile number to continue activation of their sim card.
Where to do?
You can seed Aadhaar number to your sim card by visiting your nearest retailer. For example for the Airtel sim card, You have to go to nearest Airtel retailer or Airtel store with below-mentioned documents.
- Aadhar Card photocopy
- Sim card and active phone
To receive the One Time Password (OTP) at the time Verification, you have to Turn on your Sim card.
Check the status through call
Before visiting the retailer shop, you can check whether your network sim card is already verified or not by below steps.
- Call to 198 customer care number and ask them if your Aadhaar card is linked or not.
- You may need to provide the mobile number or Aadhaar number details for this.
- Then they will give you details regarding it.
SMS
Keep checking your SMS Inbox. After Aadhaar-Sim card linking made mandatory, all customers are getting messages in their inbox to link Aadhaar with Sim card soon. Failure to link Aadhaar and sim
All mobile phone numbers have to be linked with the 12 digit Aadhaar number before 6 February 2018. If you fail to link, your Sim will be deactivated, and you will lose network signals. Re-verification
Mobile users who took the sim cards using the documents like License, Voter id, PAN, etc. again needs to verify their sim with Aadhar Card number. If you have already done the biometric verification at the time of taking the new connection, then you don't need to perform this action again.
Charges

Note
