Industry and Business Overview :

Plastics Packaging Industry :

Overall industry slowdown in the plastics and packaging industry in the recent past is significant. During FY08, the plastics packaging business grew quite impressively keeping in view increased consumer spend and growth in the lubricants and oils businesses spurred by consumer demand. However the good growth of the plastics packaging industry is offset recently by slowdown in demand, as this industry is directly dependent on the growth of other industrial segments. The domestic market is a significant part of our industry. Our company caters mostly to the industrial packaging segment and any slowdown in the overall industry segments impacts us.

MPL also continued its performance in exports with export sales valued at (INR) Rs 1.466 crores during the year 2007-08.
