RBL Bank Ltd. Company History and Annual Growth Details

The Bank was incorporated under the Indian Companies Act, 1913 and was granted a certificate of incorporation on June 14, 1943 as ÂThe Ratnakar Bank LimitedÂ and was granted a certificate of commencement of business, dated July 5, 1943, by the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies, Kolhapur State. Pursuant to a no-objection letter dated August 8, 2014 received from the RBI and a special resolution passed by the shareholders of The Bank on August
26, 2014, the name of the Bank was changed from ÂThe Ratnakar Bank LimitedÂ to ÂRBL Bank LimitedÂ so as to refresh its brand to be more focussed on new age customers and stakeholders. A fresh certificate of incorporation, dated November 24, 2014, consequent to the change of name was granted by the Registrar of Companies, Pune to the Bank. The registration number of the Bank is 007308 and The CIN is U65191PN1943PLC007308.

We are a banking company recognized as a scheduled commercial bank within the meaning of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934.

1943

-The Bank was incorporated as ÂThe Ratnakar Bank LimitedÂ in Kolhapur State, India.

1959

-The BankÂs name was entered in the Second Schedule to the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, by the Reserve Bank of India.

1970

-The Bank received a licence to carry on banking business in India from the Reserve Bank of India.

2011

-The Bank was granted a licence to operate as an authorised dealer category Â I and deal in foreign exchange, by the RBI.

2014

-The Bank received a certificate of registration to act as a merchant banker from SEBI.
