Sensex Dips Below 27,000 points; Infosys Leads Nifty Gainers

Benchmark indices opened the day marginally lower in trade despite a good bounce of almost 4 per cent in the Shanghai Composite.

Other Asian markets were subdued with the Hong Kong's Hang Sang and the Japanese Nikkei slipping into the red.

Tata Motors was trading higher after the auto giant launched its two latest car models in South Africa. Cipla also saw trading gains after it inked a pact with Biopharma SPA for establishing a joint venture company in Algeria. HCL Tech, which has lost heavy ground in the last few trading sessions, saw some buying support and was up 1 per cent.

DLF was trading higher after reports of a board meeting to see how the rental business could drive growth at the company. The stock was up 1.5 per cent in trade.

Midcap stocks saw some selling pressure with Bajaj Finance, Bank of India and IDBI Bank among the losers in trade.

Meanwhile, markets across Asia were trading with losses led by the Japanese Nikkei. Other markets that were down with were the Hong Kong's Hang Sang and the Singapore's Strait Times.
