4 Stocks That Touched 52-Week High To Aid Sensex’s Rally
It has been an eventful day on BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) with its benchmark index Sensex touching an all-time high at 40,328 in the morning session. The 31-share index, that had hit its previous all-time high on 4 June 2019 at 40,312, has seen high volatility in the 100 days between then and now.
On Thursday, the company shares that majorly contributed to Sensex's new all-time high by touching record highs themselves were:
1. Reliance Industries Limited
This heavy-weight stock has been rallying since the start of the week, touching new record highs.
On Thursday, shares of RIL touched a new 52-week high of Rs 1,489.50 on BSE. Its previous 52-week high was Rs 1,484, observed just a day ago, on Wednesday.
2. Asian Paints
Asian Paints' share price touched a new 52-week high of Rs 1,833.65 on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the stock recorded its previous record high at Rs 1,827.00.
The gains in this stock were the biggest among those on Sensex, contributing largely to the index's spike on Thursday.
3. Hindustan Unilever Limited
Shares of HUL also saw its value touch 52-week high for another consecutive day at Rs 2,187.
4. Bajaj Auto
The two and three-wheeler maker's shares touched 52-week high at Rs 3,255 on BSE. Previously, its 52-week high was recorded on 23 October 2019 at Rs 3,235.65.
Contributors to Sensex’s record highs have changed
The contributors to BSE's benchmark index's record highs have changed. This time the spike was highly contributed by RIL, ICICI Bank, HUL, HDFC Bank and Asian Paints.
On the other hand, stocks of Yes Bank, HDFC ITC, Infosys, IndusInd Bank and SBI have lost momentum over the year.
67 Stocks Touch New Highs on BSE
As of 12:50 pm on Thursday, 67 stocks touched their new 52-week high on BSE, including Bata India, Avenue Supermarkets (Dmart), Goodyear India, HDFC Life Insurance, Muthoot Finance, Nestle India, Info Edge (India), Reliance Nippon Life Asset Management, Tata Global Beverages and V-Guard Industries.
