Useful tips for Andhra Pradesh applicants
- New district names: Several districts were reorganised in recent years. Write your current district exactly as it appears in your address proof.
- Students going abroad: Many students from Andhra Pradesh go to the USA, UK, Canada and Australia. Apply for your passport before your admission letter arrives, so visa timelines are not affected.
- Surnames: Telugu names often put the family name first (for example, "Kommineni Ravi"). Keep the surname and given name in the same order on all your documents.
- Reach the centre about 15 minutes before your slot.
Documents to carry to your appointment
- Appointment receipt or Application Reference Number (ARN)
- Proof of address: Aadhaar card, voter ID, utility bill, bank passbook or registered rent agreement
- Proof of date of birth: birth certificate, school leaving certificate, PAN card or Aadhaar card
- Your old passport, for renewal or re-issue
- For minors: the parents passports or ID proof, plus Annexure forms where needed
Carry originals and one set of self-attested photocopies.
The document advisor on the Passport Seva portal shows the exact list for your case.
Stay safe from fake websites and agents
Apply only through the official Passport Seva portal or the mPassport Seva app. Look-alike websites charge extra for the same service, and you do not need an agent to get a passport in Andhra Pradesh. For any problem, contact your RPO using the details listed on this page.
