Bank Holidays in Odisha during December

All the banks in Odisha will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Vijaya Bank, ICICI Bank, Citi Bank and HDFC Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.

Christmas: It is a Christian festival. It is an annual festival. It is a religious and cultural festival celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour. The festival is celebrated to honour the birth of Jesus Christ started two millennia years by the people who follow the Christian faith. Today the Christmas festival is a time for family and friends to get together to exchange sweets, food and gifts. Many churches will be decked up with elaborate decorations well ahead of the festivity.

People throng the churches on Christmas Eve to participate in the special prayer sessions which will be held in Most Holy Rosary Cathedral before midnight. Special food including Rose Cookies, Roast Turkey, Plum Cakes, Chicken Biryani, Tamales, Pavo, Sponge Cake and other delicacies will be prepared for the day.
