The state of Madhya Pradesh is located right in the middle of the country, which is why it is called "Madhya", which means central. It is the second-largest state in India, in terms of land area. The state is of great historical importance as it was the seat for the Mauryas, Guptas, and a host of other Rajput kings. On a bank holiday in Madhya Pradesh, you can visit various tourist hotspots like the popular Kanha National Park, Van Vihar National Park, Bandhavgarh National Park. Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, and Ujjain. Hindi is the official language of the state, though there is a significant number of people who also speak Marathi.

Republic Day: It is a National Festival. The main celebrations take place in Red Fort, Delhi. Apart from this all the state governments also celebrate the event with good spirits by organizing several cultural activities. The day marks the adoption of the Constitution of India to govern the country replacing the previously followed Government of India Act of 1935. India adopted the Constitution on November 26, 1949, and the same came into effect starting from January 26, 1950, and hence Republic Day is observed on January 26 on an annual basis.

The Governor of the state hoists the tricolor flag on this day. Several gallantry awards will be honored to the policemen and brave hearts for their courageous acts on this day. Many youth and school children will perform cultural activities to mark the event. Renowned musicians will pay tribute to the nation through their performances which will be attended by a huge gathering on this day.
