Bank Holidays in Rajasthan during June

During bank holidays, there will be no banking transactions at the branch level. All the banks including the Public sector, the private sector, nationalized banks and cooperative societies will remain closed on these days.

Teej: Teej is a Hindu festival. It is celebrated to mark the advent of monsoon. During the festival, swings are hung from trees and decorated with flowers. Young girls sing songs about rain. The festival is mainly dedicated to Goddess Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva. The day is celebrated to commemorate the union of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. A huge procession is taken out from the City Palace for two consecutive days. It is an important festival for married women. There will be no holiday for banks during the Teej festival.

Bakrid: Eid–ul-Adha is also called as Bakrid. The day is celebrated to honour Prophet Abraham. It is believed that Abraham was a great devotee of God and he was tested for the same. He was asked to sacrifice his only son. Abraham or Ibrahim followed the command of God and was ready to sacrifice his son. Later, God intervened and during the act, a lamb was sacrificed instead of Ibrahim’s son. The day is marked by sacrificing an animal or lamb and is divided into three parts. One share is kept for the family and the remaining will be shared with the poor and needy people.
